He established Graham-Naylor Agency, Inc. in 1975, and built a successful and respected independent insurance and surety bonding agency with locations in Marietta and Columbus, Georgia, prior to merging with Sterling Risk Advisors in 2013.

John's insurance industry involvement includes a Certified Insurance Counselor designation, past service as a board member for the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia, and participation in numerous agency advisory councils for leading insurance carriers - including FCCI Insurance Group, CNA Insurance, Builders Insurance Group, Columbia Insurance Group, and Harleysville Insurance Group.
